Yup, I knew this will be happened since I left Intel. Intel delayed its smartphone chip again and again. Smartphone is the fastest growing gadget nowadays compare to desktop or laptop. Tablet is another rising star thanks to Apple iPad. Year 2011 is the year for tablet and smartphone. Luckily, Intel will manage (hopefully) to come out its tablet chip then. Else it cannot gain any market share at all == stock flat / down.

INTC stock performance for the past 1 year (increased 8 percent only)
Goldman Sachs says avoid Intel ~ neutral rating with $20 price target. (link). Why? Most of the smartphone and tablet market are owned by ARM. It will get stronger when Google Chrome OS come out. You will see netbook and laptop powered by ARM then. Intel needs to work fast and skip most of its slow and many business processes. And stop buying ‘useless’ companies. Else I cannot sell my INTC stock in year 2011 with target price $24…
Finally, a speed bump was hit on stock market. I had been waiting it to drop since I sold Tanjong PLC on RM21.80 per share buyout offer. And only got the money on 7 October 2010. A very long wait. Some of the stocks went up at least 20-50% since then. Err…

FBM KLCI
Can KLCI rebound to above 1500 level on Monday? Or keep dropping to 1400? Tell me…
Is INTC worth to keep? That’s the question in my mind for 6 months. Maybe this statement will help a bit…
Apple sold 3.89 million Macs during the quarter, a 27 percent unit increase over the year-ago quarter. The Company sold 14.1 million iPhones in the quarter, representing 91 percent unit growth over the year-ago quarter. Apple sold 9.05 million iPods during the quarter, representing an 11 percent unit decline from the year-ago quarter. The Company also sold 4.19 million iPads during the quarter (link)
Based on above statement, Macs sales are lower than other devices for Apple. People are buying more mobile phone, ebook nowadays than PC / notebook. Intel is only involved in Macs processor. And it delayed its phone processor to next year (which should be arrived on 2H). As a result, here is INTC stock performance for past 6 months.

INTC

AAPL
Intel stock price dropped 20% while Apple stock price increased 25% for the past 6 months. Result tells everything. I already set my INTC selling target price at $24 (buying price). But it just won’t reach there.
Intel stock ~ INTC is not performance well lately. I should have sold my INTC stocks when it reached $24 at 15 April 2010. But too bad that I keep those with me. And have to face it now. The stock value is decreasing and same apply to USD currency too.

INTC stock price @ 9 September 2010
UBS downgraded INTC to a Neutral rating and lower our 12-month price target to $19.50 from $28 via benzinga.com.
I keep wondering. Why did I do not sell INTC stock? Why still keeping faith in Intel? Anyway, I have to say goodbye to my stock option which is ‘underwater’ now. It cannot go ‘abovewater’ based on current Intel Q3 sales target. It’s time to open an US stock trading account. And move all INTC stock from UBS (Intel account) to my own account…
