I have been using phpBB forum engine at Forum at JayceOoi.com for quite sometime. However, it did not behave well lately. A lot of spam user registered and left message. Why did this happen?
I was going to update the register function to a better one. And I discovered that there was a new patch for phpBB – version 3.0.5. This version fixed my problems.
# Added and refined CAPTCHA options to better protect against new version of CAPTCHA crackers.
# Added an option to the registration screen to allow users to refresh the displayed CAPTCHA.
There are others new added features too. But none of them really matter me. Anyway, my phpBB engine was updated to the latest one. How about yours?
By the way, no more auto bot register users and messages since phpBB 3.0.5 installation. 😀
